RISOGRAPH PRINTING TORONTO/NORTH AMERICA
We are located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and we currently offer Risograph Printing and Select Finishing Methods, with a preference towards publications and posters.
We offer careful, artistically-oriented print production with an eye to detail and craftsmanship. To give you an idea our ideal run size is 30 to 200 on publications, and 20 to 1000 on posters. We don't process jobs for less than $40.
We currently stock the following colours:
Black, Medium Blue, Green, Teal, Bright Red, Yellow.
We stock a variety of carefully chosen papers & cardstocks, and are able to order custom stocks for the right quantity and with ample time.
We offer saddle stitching with flat staples and loop staples. We hope to offer perfect binding in the near future.
A note regarding Risograph Printing: The Risograph is best described as a hybrid between a photocopier and silkscreen. This is a very specific type of print technology. It is not perfect and wasn't designed with graphic arts in mind. It was made for church groups and schoolhouses. A handful of careful printers around the world are now utilizing this technology to produce unique and stunning results. We are proud of the work we do. Do not expect full colour, smooth, glossy photographic realism. The more bold and illustrative your images the better. Due to the placement of feed rollers and grippers ink cannot be applied to the entire page. Registration and alignment is rarely perfect and this must be understood going into the process. The results are wonderful and the near-offset-like (matte) appearance of the inks makes Riso Prints special and highly desirable. There are some great websites out there regarding the process.
